Sunday, October 2, 11:00 am — Chalice Circle, “The Importance of Myth”

Join us on Sunday, October 2 at 11:00 a.m. for a Chalice Circle Service led by Dave Faucher on “The Importance of Myth”

Since humans began communicating we have told stories. Stories of how the world became what it is today. Stories of things we should and shouldn’t do, like the story of the Tower of Babel. Twinged with truth or completely supernatural stories like this one are passed down from one generation to the next along cultural lines to become folklore and myth. Let’s all spend a moment to talk about how these stories still guide us when we believe science has found many of the answers. Join in the open, supportive, sharing, listening circle as we discuss the importance of myth and folklore, even today.

There will be Religious Education for the children today. “Beginnings” class will meet at 11:00 a.m. while the older kids join us for the first part of the service upstairs. At 11:30 a.m. the older kids will go downstairs for their “Questings” class.
