Friday, January 23, 7:00 pm – Winchendon Music Festival & Worcester Chorus Present Bach’s Christmas Oratorio

The Worcester Chorus (Director, Chris Shepard) and WMF (Director, Andrew Arceci) join forces to present three sections from Bach’s Christmas Oratorio––written for chamber orchestra, chorus, and soloists. Despite its name, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio isn’t only for December. The work is a collection of six cantatas historically performed at different points throughout the Advent/Christmas season. Claire Fontijn (Professor of Music, Wellesley College) will give a pre-concert talk at 6:00 p.m. for those seeking more insight into this popular work. The hour-long concert follows at 7:00 p.m. Free admission, refreshments sold.
