Join us on Sunday, April 24 at 11:00 a.m. for an Earth Day themed service with Pastor Inanna Arthen, “The Ground On Which We Walk”.
April 22, 1970 was the first Earth Day, a national celebration and consciousness-raising event that manifested far beyond its inventors’ expectations and hopes. Forty-six years later, many of the critical environmental issues in 1970 have been solved, but the challenges confronting us today are far more complex. But does our responsibility to the planet go past mere practical concerns? Why is our relationship to the Earth so important?
RE class will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the “Beginnings” class for younger kids, while the older kids participate in worship upstairs. At 11:30 a.m. the older kids go downstairs for their “Questings” class.
At 12:00 p.m. following the service, we’ll share a potluck lunch on the theme of “Home Grown.” Bring something locally produced to share–from your own garden, a farm stand, a local vendor or the “local food” section of the grocery store. All are welcome!
