This Sunday is the second Sunday of Advent in the traditional Christian calendar. But “Advent” has a deeper and broader meaning, especially when we’re anticipating great changes. The dictionary defines it as “the arrival of a notable person, thing or event.” How does expectation influence our experience of change, and how can we prepare for people, situations and events that may substantially alter our own lives?
