Join us on Sunday, March 1 at 5:00 p.m. for a worship service with Pastor Inanna Arthen: “Belonging to Here”
March 1 is Saint David’s Day, the day when the people of Wales and Welsh descent the world over celebrate their heritage. March 17 is Saint Patrick’s Day, similarly significant to the Irish. Why do we place such importance in our groups, nationalities and identities? What are the strengths and weaknesses of identifying with countries, tribes and subcultures—or religious denominations? If we’re “proud to be” a member of such a group, is that empowering or a problem?
Following the service, we’ll share a potluck supper in the Fellowship Hall downstairs. Our theme is “Food inspired by Dr. Seuss,” since March 2 is Theodor Geisel’s (“Dr. Seuss”) birthday. Bring something colorful–or something Welsh! Everyone is welcome.
