Sunday, May 10 — 10:00 am AND 5:00 pm — Sunday Worship for Mother’s Day

On Sunday, May 10, Pastor Arthen will lead TWO services for Mother’s Day: one at 10:00 a.m. and one at 5:00 p.m. If a morning service would work better for you than evening, please let us know by attending! There will be no RE class at the morning service, but kids old enough to enjoy a traditional worship service are welcome to attend.

“It’s Not Easy to Be Mom”
Mother’s Day was first observed in 1908 as a day to honor and appreciate mothers of all kinds–not just for raising children but as a social force for world peace. But in our times, it seems that mothers don’t always get the respect they deserve. Whether you’re a mom, a foster-mom or the child of a mom, join us for an exploration of the extra challenges our society adds to the world’s toughest job, and how we can change them.

Following the 5:00 p.m. service, we’ll share a potluck supper on the theme of “Mom’s Favorites.” You know what Mom likes? Those recipes that wafted yummy flavors through your childhood are what remind you of Mom. Let’s share those foods with each other and with all the Mothers in our life during this very special potluck. Everyone is invited and encouraged to bring something; no one will be turned away.
