Join us on Sunday, October 9 at 11:00 am for a timely service for Columbus Day weekend, “The Lamp Beside the Golden Door”.
There are many divisive “hot topics” in this election season, but none seem to evoke as much anger, fear and confusion as immigration. Columbus Day reminds us that we are a nation of immigrants—even First Nations peoples migrated here from someplace else. Historically, most Americans have been eager and willing to open their hearts to those from other countries who wanted a better life. Now we talk about guarding our borders with armed patrols and massive walls. What’s going on, and what can we as UUs do to confront and change these attitudes?
RE will be meeting downstairs during the service. The “Beginnings” class will meet at 11:00 a.m. while the older kids join us for the first part of the service upstairs. At 11:30 a.m. the older kids will go downstairs for their “Questings” class.
See you in church!
